Lisa Brown has nearly twenty years experience in nutrition counseling. Prior to forming Brown & Medina Nutrition, Lisa was a senior dietitian at Joy Bauer Nutrition in NYC. Lisa treats a variety of nutritional concerns including nutrition for the whole family, nutritional therapy for those of all ages suffering with anorexia & bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, compulsive overeating and disordered eating, weight management, pre & postnatal nutrition and general wellness. Lisa is on the advisory board of Fan4Kids, a non-profit organization providing education to children in the public school system and was the spokesperson for a brand of baby food and smoothies that has had much success in the UK and debuted in the US, fall 2009.
Before entering into private practice, Lisa was the nutrition specialist and coordinator of patient care & counseling at Peak Wellness Center of Greenwich Connecticut. At this integrative medical center Lisa provided one-on-one nutritional counseling and led community outreach programs at local public and private schools, as well as at private corporations. Additionally, she provided her expertise to on-site research studies conducted with other medical professionals.
Lisa has been featured in national publications, on national TV and Radio and has been both a contributor and technical editor of books regarding the treatment of eating disorders. Lisa is a frequent lecturer on nutrition, with speaking engagements before a range of audiences including school children, professional dancers, parents and her colleagues. Lisa received her Master of Science degree in Clinical Nutrition from Hunter College, School of Health Sciences.
Lisa resides in Westchester, New York with her husband and their two children.
