Whitney Sturton

MS, RDN, CDN

Whitney Sturton earned her undergraduate degree in psychology at the University of Michigan and then went on to receive a Master’s degree in Nutrition Education from Teachers College at Columbia University. She completed her dietetic internship at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, as well as a Nutrition Fellowship specializing in Pediatrics at Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital. She then joined the Clinical Nutrition team at NewYork-Presbyterian Weill Cornell in 2017. Initially, Whitney gained experience providing nutrition care to both adults and children with a wide range of various disease states. Over the past three years, she has specialized her practice in providing medical nutrition therapy to children from infancy through adolescence to early adulthood. Whitney takes care of the most critical pediatric patients admitted to the intensive care unit, and follows them as they continue to heal throughout their hospital course.

Whitney is also the Nutrition Consultant for the Lenox Hill Early Childhood Center, where she provides counseling and lectures to staff and family regarding various healthy eating topics.

Whitney’s areas of expertise include:

  • General pediatric and young adult nutrition

  • Treatment for picky eating, failure to thrive/poor weight gain, and food allergies.

  • Gastrointestinal disorders such as IBD, Celiac Disease and tube feeding management.

  • Pediatric diabetes management, oncology, and congenital heart diseases.
